The mission of our Special Friends Ministry at Brenneman Church is to help all individuals with special needs and their families feel welcomed, accepted, supported, and loved, so that they can know Jesus and fully participate in the Body of Christ. We believe that individuals with disabilities reflect the nature and heart of God in a special way and that each one has a special role to play in God’s Kingdom. We are one body in Christ and “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does it’s own work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 We welcome all individuals with disabilities, however, we currently provide special needs programming for high school students and younger. If you have a child who needs support during church program activities and out current programming does not meet his or her needs, please contact us so that we can determine the best ways to serve your family.

This is a new and developing ministry and currently we offer: Special Friends’ Buddies: We provide one-on-one support in an inclusion setting to children with special needs in grades 4 and under who need extra assistance to participate in children’s ministry programming. These specially trained adult and/or teen buddies provide support, friendship, and love to children with special needs so that they can feel welcomed, safe, and included. Click on the link at the top of this page to register.
Special Moms’ Group: All moms are special, but moms who have a child with special needs have unique challenges and life experiences that only other moms with special needs children can truly understand. If you are a mom looking for support, advice, and friendship from other moms who can share your joys and struggles, then please join us on the 2nd Monday of each month from 6:30-8pm. To reserve childcare, contact Jodi Culp at least 2 days prior to meeting. (574)333-8050 or email@example.com
Sensory/Quiet Room: We provide a quiet, less stimulating room for children who need a break from the regular classroom in order to calm and relax. Special Friends are accompanied by their adult or teen buddy and engage in quiet sensory activities of their choice.
Special Friends' Class - This class meet each week during the Sunday School hour (10:30-11:30 a.m. and is designed for students in grades 5 through 12.
