We look forward to having your child in our nursery! The following are a few, quick items you will want to know prior to dropping them off: 1. )Health Check Please help us cut down on the spread of germs in our rooms by not bringing your child in if one of the following things is true for them. Fever in the last 24 hours Vomiting or diarrhea in the past 24 hours Nasal drainage other than clear Other childhood ailments that would be contagious (ex. Chicken pox) If your child becomes sick during the service, you will see your parent card number flash up on the screen so that you can care for your child. 2) Labeling: Please label all bags, cups or other things that come into the class with the child. This will help us when we switch workers to know what items belong to your child. 3) Checking on your little ones: Please feel free to look through the glass on the doors to check on your child but do not come in unless you are picking up your child. Our workers will contact you on the screen in the worship service or location listed on registration sheet if your child needs your attention or has been crying consistently for 10 minutes or more. 4) Check-in/Registration: The check-in procedures for children in Hosanna Acres. are the same as those for the Highway 252 kids. A central check-in center is located in the north foyer. Kids may be checked in between 8:45 -9:10 am, right at 9:30 am or from 10:05-10:30 am. Children are checked in to the computer software and give a name tag. Guests are given a "guest" tag and the parents are given "parent" cards to correspond to their child. In order for your child to be dropped off, they must be wearing their tag and the parents are required to show their parent card in order to pick up their children or to even get back into the children's area. If you have been coming as guests and would like to make Brenneman your home, please ask for a family information sheet at the check-in center. Once you have completed and returned the form at the check-in center or in the ministry offices, permanent name tags and parent cards will be made for your children. 5) Our curriculum is called First Look. We have Bible memory verses that we learn for the month, as well as a theme for each month. The three basic truths we teach in the curriculum are:
God Made Me
God Loves Me
Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever
This curriculum is used in the 2-5 year olds classes. It appeals to the young children and is easy for them to remember and re-tell.
Alicia Burns, Director of Children's Ministries
'We look forward to partnering with you to teach your child about the amazing love of our Heavenly Father! Our program includes a time of worship just for the kids and a retelling of the Bible story for the day, a snack and activities that will help them to apply the lesson to their own life. The program does not repeat each service but is a continuous morning of events so we encourage you to allow your child to be a part of the entire 2 hours! If you are attending 1st service, your children will sit with you till they're dismissed at 9:30. If you are attending an adult Sunday school class during first service, then your children can sit with the children's director and her husband in the front center section of the sanctuary. The children join us in the service because we believe it is important for them to participate in a service and it's also a great opportunity for families to be able to worship and grow together. The Kindergarten-4th graders programming lasts until 11:35 a.m. Sunday Morning Schedule **8:45-9:10-Registration (all children who will attend need to be registered before entering the Children's wing) 9:00-9:30-All Kindergarten-4th graders in the service (children are dismissed from the service) 9:30-10:00-Drama and Worship Time for K's-4th graders 10:00-10:15-Snacks for K-4th graders **10:05-10:30-Registration for 2nd service 10:15-10:30-Pick up your birth to 4th graders if they are not staying for 2nd service 10:15-10:30-Snacks for 4 and 5 year olds 10:15-10:45- Kids' Choir/Summer Months: outdoor activities (weather permitting) 10:45-11:35 Bible story review and application activities **These times are available for you to check-in your child. See below for more information about why we use this system.
Wednesday Children's Ministries
The kids connect with other kids in their age group in a classroom while going through a Bible lesson from 7:00-7:45 p.m. From 7:45 - 8:00 p.m., they gather as one large group in our Worship Warehouse for worship and announcements. Each month there is a special Wednesday event. Some examples are Brenneman's Got Talent, movie night, Bible Pictionary, etc.

Your Child's Safety We want both you and your child to know they can rest easy in a safe environment. To create that atmosphere the following security procedures are currently in use: Background ChecksAll of our volunteers for birth-4th grade have completed a volunteer application and have gone through a thorough background check. We also have a policy and procedures manual for the children's ministry which includes our discipline policy, fire and tornado safety and much more. We encourage you to pick up a copy of this policy and procedures manual at the registration table in the children's wing. Family CardsEach family is assigned a family unit number with corresponding numbers for each member of the family. For example (see picture to the right): A family has unit number 999. The parent cards have 999-1 (Father), 999-2 (Mother), the oldest child would be assigned 999-3 and so on. When you check your child in, they are given a name tag with their family unit and individual number on it (ie: 999-3) or for visitors, they are given a guest tag with a unique number. They will wear this throughout the morning. When it is time to pick them up from class, you show your family card at the check point stations in order to gain access to the Children's Wing. The card is then shown again at the door of the classroom where the number is matched to the number on your child's name tag. A parent, guardian, or sibling 11 years or older who have a matching family card are the only people allowed to pick up your child and they must come to the child's classroom for pick-up. Our Children's Department is a secure area and you can rest easy knowing that your child is protected throughout the morning. What if I forget my card? If you have forgotten or lost your family card, simply fill out the form at the Checkpoint station and it will then be verified, allowing you entrance to the area. Replacement cards for our regular attenders are available for a small fee.
