Your Child's Safety We want both you and your child to know they can rest easy in a safe environment. To create that atmosphere the following security procedures are currently in use: Background ChecksAll of our volunteers for birth-4th grade have completed a volunteer application and have gone through a thorough background check. We also have a policy and procedures manual for the children's ministry which includes our discipline policy, fire and tornado safety and much more. We encourage you to pick up a copy of this policy and procedures manual at the registration table in the children's wing. Family CardsEach family is assigned a family unit number with corresponding numbers for each member of the family. For example (see picture to the right): A family has unit number 999. The parent cards have 999-1 (Father), 999-2 (Mother), the oldest child would be assigned 999-3 and so on. When you check your child in, they are given a name tag with their family unit and individual number on it (ie: 999-3) or for visitors, they are given a guest tag with a unique number. They will wear this throughout the morning. When it is time to pick them up from class, you show your family card at the check point stations in order to gain access to the Children's Wing. The card is then shown again at the door of the classroom where the number is matched to the number on your child's name tag. A parent, guardian, or sibling 11 years or older who have a matching family card are the only people allowed to pick up your child and they must come to the child's classroom for pick-up. Our Children's Department is a secure area and you can rest easy knowing that your child is protected throughout the morning. What if I forget my card? If you have forgotten or lost your family card, simply fill out the form at the Checkpoint station and it will then be verified, allowing you entrance to the area. Replacement cards for our regular attenders are available for a small fee.
